1st milking!

I milked Penelope this morning and got a full qt. It was so amazing, hearing that milk hit the bucket again. And see it fill up with good warm goat milk. Both dogs were right back in their spots, waiting for their squirts of milk, just like they'd never had a break of nearly 5 months. It was great! I sure did miss milking. And Penelope is a milkers dream. Just to be back in the milking routine again is just great. I'll milk her again tonight. She's so big and needs to be milked. I do not want her to get mastitis.

Isn't that just a beautiful sight? I'll be feeding this to the lambs. I never liked goat milk til after 2 weeks. It has to be just right for me. And I know the lambs will love it. Straight goat milk now for the little ladies!

Oh happy days again!

I love goat milk! We are having it on our cereal again. Finally!! I feel like we've been dry so long. I'm so glad you're milking again too!

Isn't it the best? The lambs are getting all this now. But in 2 weeks, I get mine!

Can't wait for milk!! Kristin is just now beginning to get enough for her family and when I finish the jug in my fridge she will again have enough for her Mama and Papa!

I read your blog, Kristin, about your milking machine adventures. I just don't know about them myself. I have 2 small machines. 1 runs off a small battery and the other is a hand milker. Don't know if I'm going to use them or not. But I wish you luck with yours! You'll get the hang of it soon. And so will the girls. I'm not getting too much milk from Penelope because those kids are good eaters. Gonna have to go get a few gallons of store milk so I can feed these 4 lambs. I wish the other 3 goats would all have theirs today and get this over with already!

I hear you! My does like to hold milk up for their kids too. I'll finish milking them, then turn around and *bang* they're half full again!

Come on girls, give Mama Kris some babies!
